About Abdella Ibrahim

Hi there! I’m Abdella, a Computer Science graduate from York University (Feb 2024) with hands-on experience in backend engineering, applied AI, and building practical software solutions from the ground up. Currently, I work as an Applied AI Engineer at DXC Technology (via Genspark), where I design and deploy Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines with LlamaIndex, Qdrant, and vLLM, containerized with Docker for scalability and data privacy. I also implemented an observability stack with Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana, improving real-time monitoring and system reliability. Previously, as a Backend Developer Intern at Knoldus Inc, I built microservices with Scala and Akka HTTP, integrated databases like PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and developed features such as an employee recognition platform. My work with RabbitMQ helped decouple services and improve system efficiency. Beyond work, I enjoy creating side projects that challenge me to apply new technologies. One example is Little Scylla, a Discord bot that manages online gaming tournaments, handling player verification, scheduling, and stat tracking for participants. I’ve also contributed to hackathons, including developing “Hackerdex” at CTRL+HACK+DEL, a networking feature for participants built with Next.js and MySQL. I’m passionate about solving problems through software—whether that’s streamlining workflows, building reliable backend systems, or experimenting with AI-driven solutions. Always curious and eager to grow, I thrive in collaborative environments where I can learn, share, and make an impact.
