About Abdul Bari Mohammad

A passionate engineer with a strong combination of academics hands-on and work experience. It all started when I was young. My fascination towards engineering sprung from my dad a hard-core engineer and my inspiration. I learnt engineering skills from him at a very young age while simultaneously excelling in academics. This duality helped me choose my field of study wanting to not only be an engineer also excel in my chosen field of study - Engineering. With this combination I did my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at Osmania University. During my fourth year of study I had an opportunity to excel in an automotive competition through SAE Baja. As part of Team Mud brothers I worked as Quality Control Manager gaining plentiful knowledge and honed my technical skills; from welding to designing during that year. After graduating I was given a chance to work for Petrocon Engineers and Consultants as a Piping Designer. This was an extraordinary experience working with different teams in a deadline-driven environment. This gave me the impetus to pursue my Masters in Mechanical Engineering at Lakehead University where I graduated in May 2018. Some highlights of my projects and contributions at Lakehead University include: • Energy harvesting using overhead power lines • Performance testing of a cyclone used to clean the air exiting the drill during maize sowing • Biodiesel production and its effects on diesel engine performances and emissions: A review. • Environmental risk assessment of sediments deposited in storm water treatment facilities • Maximization of PV output using the modelling and numerical simulations – A case study of a hypothetical Canadian site • Design and fabrication of a semiautomatic fuel briquetting machine. I believe in lifelong learning and I continually strive to excel at my work. I am a driven leader and a responsible team player.
