About Abdul Malek
Dr. Malek is working on a kilowatt-scale GREEN HYDROGEN production pilot project (Collaborating with ACWA Power), where water electrolyzers are integrated into photovoltaic panels at KAUST. He has expertise in Materials synthesis, electrochemistry, membrane electrode assembly (MEA) fabrication, operating kW-scale water electrolyzers, and materials characterization using relevant in situ and ex situ techniques. His research work has resulted in 2 granted patents. His patented research on ‘on-demand green hydrogen production via seawater splitting using Aluminum based nano-battery like system’ has been covered by 20+ national and international media (one link: https://bit.ly/2UezOp3). He secured All India Rank 41 in the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2014 in Chemical Sciences and All India Rank 52 in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2015 in Chemistry.
