About Abdulkerim Eroglu

As an Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University, I lead a translational research program, working on federally funded projects to investigate xenobiotic metabolism in preclinical models and in humans. Prior to joining NC State, I received a postdoc training at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and School of Public Health, where I used pharmacokinetics data and worked with regulatory bodies to support translational research and public health initiatives. Besides, I investigated the efficacy of HDAC inhibitors as chemopreventive agents in human melanoma models. I also tested drug candidates by investigating structure-activity relationships in the Department of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. I am an effective and confident science communicator, as evidenced by my track record of presenting to diverse audiences through 43 public presentations in national and international settings, mentoring team members, securing grants from major research federal agencies, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), publishing peer-reviewed articles in multidisciplinary journals, including Journal of Biological Chemistry, Frontiers in Nutrition, Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Advances in Nutrition, ACS Synthetic Biology, and Nature Communications, and reviewing grant proposals for USDA, NSF, and NIH. As a highly motivated researcher, I am dedicated to fostering and maintaining professional relationships with collaborators and leaders in the health sciences.
