Currently working as VP Legal Affairs, Oman Airports - Around 22 years of commendable success in managing legal, regulatory and commercial issues and leading teams of people to successfully achieved corporate objectives in different disciplines- Visiting Lecturer, College of Law, SQU- Comprehensive experience in building team, developing process, establishing service standards and compliance policies based on extensive planing & implementation of effective control measures- An expert in leading and directing the negotiations and drafting many contracts conducted outside of Oman. In 2014 I completed my PhD research at University of Essex in UK and the research title is: State Contracts with Foreign Investors; With Special Reference to the Sultanate of Oman. In doing so, this thesis attempted to contribute to the positive development of the current and future practice of state contracts between Omani government and foreign investors. In considering legal nature of state contracts under Omani law and identifying parties of state contracts including state-owned corporations. The thesis argued that Omani law should be the chosen law to avoid any future conflicts with the national policy and public interests. In any case, the practice of Omani government in drafting stabilisation clauses and choice of law clause should be rethought and repositioned to meet governmental policies and the interest of Omani people.
