About Abdullah Ismail

I am passionate about driving quality and efficiency in laboratory environments. With a strong background in Analytical Chemistry, Data Analysis, and Quality Management, I have the knowledge and skills to excel in a research and development setting. My thesis was "Exploring Cellulose as raw material in the Production of a Coagulant / Flocculant for wastewater treatment" which demonstrates my dedication to advancing sustainable solutions in the environmental sector. Prior to pursuing my Erasmus master's degree, I earned a Master's in Environmental Sciences, where I conducted research on the "Impact Assessment of Automobile Service Station’s Effluent of Karachi City." Through my experience as a Chemist at an Environmental Laboratory, I developed analytical methods and prepared SOPs for various parameters of wastewater and water samples. Additionally, as a Quality Control and EHS Officer, I ensured environmental compliance, process safety, sample analysis, and documentation, and developed a wastewater laboratory capable of performing all effluent parameters. I am also an experienced teacher of Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, and Chemistry, having taught part-time while pursuing my studies and professional job in different academies in my locality. My certifications in Laboratory Quality Management, Environmental Management Systems, and Health, Safety, and Environment, along with my recent edX and Coursera courses on the Health Effects of Climate Change, Global Environmental Management, and Chemicals & Health, have equipped me with the tools to address complex challenges in the laboratory and environmental sectors. I am a recipient of the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Fully Funded Scholarship by the European Union, and my technical expertise includes instrumentation, including Spectrophotometer, FTIR, HPLC, AAS, ICP, Zetasizer, Rotavapor, TOC Analyzer, Kjeldhal, and Sulphur Analyzer. I also possess strong personal skills, including flexibility, positive outlook, creativity, and active listening, and organizational skills, including project management, workflow, budgeting, and team building. Overall, I am excited to continue contributing to the laboratory and environmental sectors and I am committed to driving innovation and sustainability through my work.
