About Abel Batty
I am a scientist focusing primarily on biochemistry and molecular biology. Academically, my beginning in research was with the innate immune system, working with macrophage and neutrophils in vitro, studying the effects of one protein in the immune response chain during infection. For the last few years in the biotech field I have focused on cell therapy against cancer connected to the adaptive immune system, in particular T cells and NK cells. Our team designed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) immune cells and tested them against cancer cells in vitro. However, while my interest is in science, my passion is people. Working as a part of a team and assisting in the communication and overall efficiency and productivity of a group is the most rewarding experience for me.
