About Abena Koomson

Abena works in Corporate Communications and Marketing at Starlight Investments. She has a strong passion for Public Relations coupled with an extensive track record of education in the field. She graduated from the University of Professional Studies, Accra with a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations Management in 2022. She subsequently moved on to York University to earn a Postgraduate degree in Public Relations in 2024. Her areas of interest in PR include Internal and Corporate Communications, Crisis/Reputation Management, Media Relations, Influencer Relations, Public Affairs and Digital Communications. She yearns to be knowledgeable in the other areas of the discipline as well as possess a functioning understanding of them. She is an avid writer and believes writing opens up the opportunity to explore all the many different ways to express oneself and tell a good story. She utilizes her writing skills by contributing feature pieces to PR & Lattes on a part-time basis. She loves to read and her most current read is “The light we carry” by the impeccable Former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. Oh, one more thing, she is learning some French!
