About Aberdeen Simpson

My name is Aberdeen Simpson and I’m an MFT graduate student studying at California Lutheran University. During my time in this masters program, I have worked extensively with the eating disorder population at residential and intensive-outpatient levels of care. This work has sparked my passion for eating disorder treatment and I'm excited to pursue this specialization upon completion of my masters program in 2025. Working in primary ED treatment, I have supported clients struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating disorder and ARFID. Many of these clients also struggled with co-morbid conditions such as PTSD, OCD, SUD, anxiety and depression, which has honed my skills in crisis management and milieu management. As a Meal Coach and Eating Disorder Counselor with Newport Healthcare, I have the opportunity to provide clinical support throughout the Moorpark/Camarillo region to both adolescent and young adult clients struggling with disordered eating. Under the supervision and guidance of a registered dietician, I work with all my clients to promote intuitive eating and body acceptance. Regardless of an ED diagnosis or past treatment, I meet my clients where they’re at while providing a safe and understanding environment to explore their relationship with food and body image.
