About Abhijit Saha
I am a passionate researcher with + 8 years of experience in Chemical Biology and Chemical Immunology. I obtained a PhD degree in chemical biology in 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Hiroshi Sugiyama, Kyoto University, Japan. During my PhD, I acquired expertise in the synthesis of small molecules targeting nulceic acids and evaluation of their biological activity in cell culture medium. Subsequently, I did my 1st postdoctoral training under the supervision of Prof. Marie-Paule Teulade-Fichou at the Institut Curie, France (Nov 2015-Dec 2018). During this period, I got expertise in developing probes for targeting non-canonical secondary structures of DNA/RNA, such as G-Quadruplexes. In 2019, I was awarded with the prestigious MSCA-IF to work with Prof. Alberto Fernandez-Tejada in his newly established ERC-SG funded "Chemical Immunology lab" to decipher the mechanism of action of clinically relevant vaccine adjuvant QS21. During this postdoctoral period I have achieved expertise in carbohydrate chemistry and learned a great deal of immunology.
