About Abi Lamb

BSc in Geography from Liverpool John Moores University focusing on the use of Geographical Information Systems and computer models to analyse river flooding. After my undergraduate I decided to carry on with computer modelling and completed a PGDip in Climate Change Science and Policy. My specialty was focusing on global climate models and simulations as well as looking at global warming solutions. My final project looked into the Mississippi floods and simulating the flood events whilst applying financial and demographic data to the model. After university I joined Atkins as a Network Modelling Engineer and worked on projects for Welsh Water and Thames Water. These projects included working on a contingency plan for if there was ever a problem with the water supply, and also looking at replacing pipework that had a high burst frequency. Whilst working for Bristol Water as an Asset Information and Maintenance Technician I was responsible for looking at how our overground assets such as pumps and reservoirs are maintained and calibrated. This has given me much more knowledge of the wider network and what it takes to manage a water supply. I joined the development services team in 2019, working as a development engineer supplying new water main designs for new developments. I provide quotations and designs for new water mains for developers and self lay providers. In my current role at Last Mile Asset Management I am responsible for ensuring compliance with standards for industrial, domestic and multiple occupancy based projects submitted by SLPs on behalf of Developers. It is my responsibility to analyse the design and ensure that they meet our design criteria and regulations. As well as this I have been responsible for creating new processes and helping to integrate water within the business.
