Currently pursuing an Honours Bachelor’s of Social Work at McMaster University and a Social Service Worker graduate at Sheridan College, I have enhanced my natural drive and passion for empowering individuals to overcome challenges, achieve their full potential and advocate social justice. As an accomplished Addiction and Mental Health Counsellor at ADAPT, I focus on conducting assessments and counselling sessions to support clients in their recovery journey as well as supporting their families and caregivers. With a strong background in case management and a commitment to leveraging various strategies and approaches, I provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals struggling with addiction and mental health issues. Proficient in virtual communication platforms and adept at coordinating staff training sessions, I excel in fostering collaboration and driving positive change within multidisciplinary teams. My areas of expertise include critical thinking to address social innovation and creative problem-solving for social justice, building relationships, leadership, and advocacy, developing comprehensive service user programs and group facilitations, managing interventions, navigating government regulations, conducting practical assessments, and making recommendations consistent with the organization’s strategic vision.
