About Abigail Akpan

I’m a Manager in Audit & Assurance at Deloitte with deep experience leading financial audits, advising on complex transactions under ASPE & IFRS while also helping organizations strengthen internal controls. I’ve worked with clients across oil and gas, utilities, construction, and non-profits—bringing a mix of technical knowledge and people-first leadership to every engagement. Outside of Deloitte, I’m the Founder of Migrant Smart, a platform built to support immigrants in Canada with the tools, resources, and community they need to succeed. As an immigrant myself, I understand how overwhelming the journey can be. Through content, events, and strategic partnerships, we’re helping people land jobs, build networks, and thrive—not just survive. I also serve as Treasurer at NCFC, a non-profit where I provide strategic guidance which has helped scale the organization tremendously in the last 3 years.
