About Abigail Alter

Greetings! I'm Abby, a UX/UI Designer with a Graduate Certificate in UX and background in Anthropology and Ethnographic Methods. Critical thinking and creative problem-solving come naturally to me. I'm most interested in studying user behavior and utilizing that data to inform design processes of technologies that people depend on - whether the product is physical, digital, or structural. I become obsessed with learning everything I can about a user population, then testing and retesting my designs, for full confidence in the end-result. Unable to turn off the grad-student in me, I treat every ask like a capstone project, delivering fresh, creative solutions from a people-first perspective. I'm comfortable with working through every step of a product's life cycle - collaborating with CEOs, Stakeholders, Designers, Writers, and Engineers to ensure that the UX is prioritized and implemented effectively. I live and breathe UX - it's a reflex I couldn't turn off even if I wanted. Unfortunately, the world is filled with poor designs. Often, it's just frustrating and can negatively impact ROI, but sometimes poor design is dangerous - so I take my work very seriously. As a lifelong learner, I wish to continue developing my skillset in UX and UI Design through work that is helpful, meaningful, and makes a positive impact on the world. Since my other passion in life is video games, my ultimate goal is to leverage my expertise and passion to disrupt the Video Game industry with innovative UX research and UI designs.
