About Abigail Haugh

Abigail Haugh is a dancer, teacher, and personal trainer based in New York City. She obtained her BFA in dance performance at Hofstra University, where she trained extensively in modern and ballet. Additionally, she has trained in various jazz, contemporary, tap, and musical theatre techniques. During her time at Hofstra, she performed in pieces by Max Stone, Adam Barruch, Maxine Steinman, and Larry Keigwin. She continues to perform in dance projects and companies throughout New York City. Most recently, she has been in rehearsals with Salvatore LaRussa Dance Theatre, Chutzpah Dance, and Anna Paterson Dance Company! In addition to performing, she works as an independent personal trainer, a dance teacher and condition coordinator at Divine Rhythms Dance Studio, and as an Assistant Teaching Artist with the Mark Morris Dance Group. For four years, Abigail has been working as a dance instructor in both competitive and recreational settings, in-person and virtually, and for people of all ages and levels of experience. She has taught private lessons, workshop intensives, and choreographed for annual showcases, college performances, and regional competitions. She strives to provide further insight, references and resources, technical corrections, and a non-judgemental creative space to help my students achieve and exceed their goals. She has a great passion for instilling and nurturing a love of dance in movers of all ages, and strives to help her students reach their fullest potential through providing meaningful feedback, stimulating artistic exploration, and encouraging confidence in all of her students. She has taught intensive summer classes, created dance pieces within the dance department at Hofstra University, and helped in the creation and teaching of a dance workshop, alongside her peers, at schools all across Long Island and Queens. Abigail is looking forward to teaching at Divine Rhythms again this season!
