Background

About Abigail Montgomery

As an MA graduate of English with a concentration of TESOL from Wright State University, I also graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor’s in English with a focus in TESOL. I currently work as an English Adjunct at Miami University and teach ESL online to children as I pursue other ESL-related job opportunities. As a teacher and student, most of my employers, colleagues, and peers have described me as an understanding person. This is valuable not only in the field of TESOL but also to my personal pursuit in learning a foreign language (Arabic and Spanish). Human beings thrive on the ability to communicate. Through communication, a person possesses a valuable skill which plays an integral role in propelling them forward to achieve their dreams. In the teaching of and fluid exchanges within languages, one begins to grasp the vast possibilities in the art of expression. As a language teacher, learner, and user, I keep the goal of reaching communication, through those vast possibilities of expression, at the forefront of my mind. This being my goal, it is essential that I am an understanding person. I tend to be in-tune to my students’/clients’ needs and goals, and I strongly view communication as the path towards fully achieving those goals.
