About Abraham Deleon
I am currently Professor of the social foundations in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio. My work moves across the humanities and educational theory, focusing upon cultural studies, archival research, curriculum studies, and critical pedagogies. My current research explores the connections between social imaginaries and mythical pasts that points us towards new frontiers of critical inquiries, collectivities, and social transformation. I have been working in some capacity of education for 25 years and see profound connections between teaching and my robust scholarly record. I teach social theory and other social foundations related courses in my home department, along with humanities-based courses in the UTSA Honor's College.
