I have many transferable skills directly relating to owning and managing my own business in Turkey. The job was physically demanding, moving stock, setting up seating and tables being on your feet for most of the day. Ensuring the bar and kitchen area met health and safety standards. managing staff and work rotas. I have carried out a variety of jobs during my time with Marine Harvest and have shown that I am flexible and have accomodated various changes to my working pattern. Living locally within walking distance means I can be in work at short notice. May 2011-Oct 2015 Cafe Bar Manager – LT’s Cafe BarI owned and ran a successful cafe bar in the small tourist resort of Dalyan in Turkey. We served breakfast through to light snacks, cakes to ice creams. The business was a family focused also showing a wide range of sports. I had a wide range of responsibilities, these included ordering stock, managing staff day to day, serving customers, bar tending, dealing with the technical side of the business e.g. making sure the correct sports channels were setup, TV’s working, projection screen in place, Wi-Fi running correctly, computer access set up and available for customers. Dealt with the day to cash and banking. I met with suppliers and reps.Nov 2010-May 2011 During this time I found my business in Dalyan. I then sorted out all the licences etc. that I needed to be able to open the business. At this time I also had to get to business ready for the start of the tourist season, changing decor, lighting, seating and so on. I found staff that had to be trained before the business opened. My university was in the Cappadocia area of Turkey which is a very popular tourist area. I worked during my time at university at 3 of the 4 Star hotels as a receptionist.
