Nach abgeschlossener Ausbildung zum Volljuristen bin ich seit meinem Berufseintritt als Trainee des DIHT zum 1.1.1996 (mit Stationen bei der Handelskammer Hamburg, dem DIHT und der AHK Helsinki)(heute DIHK) in der Wirtschaftsförderung "unterwegs". Einer Tätigkeit bei der IHK Rhein-Neckar in Mannheim vom 1.9.1996 bis 31.3.2004 (zunächst im Bereich Recht, später als Leiter des Euro Info Centre) folgte zum 1.4.2004 der Wechsel zur Bundesagentur für Außenwirtschaft (bfai), die zum 1.1.2009 in der neu gegründeten Wirtschaftsfördergesellschaft Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI) aufging. Mehr als 13 Jahre arbeitete ich dort im Bereich Ausländisches Wirtschaftsrecht, bevor ich im Jahre 2017 die Leitung des Bereiches Zoll übernahm. Ich bin mit zahlreichen Aspekten des internationalen Wirtschaftsrechts sowie des Zoll- und Außenwirtschaftsrechts vertraut.
