About Adam Ballinger

Adam Ballinger is an attorney licensed in Minnesota. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Law. Before joining Kelley, Wolter, and Scott, PA, Adam was a partner in the Minneapolis office of an Am Law 100 firm. He is also an adjunct professor of Bankruptcy Law at the University of Minnesota School of Law, where he teaches Business Reorganization in Bankruptcy. Adam is an active member of the bar and professional organizations, including the American Bankruptcy Institute. He writes and lectures nationally on bankruptcy-related topics, including financial fraud, auditor malpractice, chapter 11 reorganization, and litigation. Adam has received numerous awards for his professional accomplishments. Adam became a 40 Under 40 Honoree by the American Bankruptcy Institute as one of forty professionals nationwide committed to the highest standards of achievement at work and in their communities. He also was named a 40 Under 40 Honoree by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, Attorney of the Year (Petters Bankruptcy Team) by the Minnesota Lawyer, recognized as a "Best Lawyer" in both Insolvency and Reorganization Law and Bankruptcy Litigation categories, and a four-time Rising Star by Minnesota Super Lawyers - awarded to the top 2.5 percent of attorneys each year. In addition to practicing in the areas of bankruptcy administration and litigation, Adam also has extensive experience in negotiating, structuring, and closing distressed mergers and acquisitions and other asset transactions, secured debt creation and collateral disposition, including public and private sales under Article 9 of the UCC, financial fraud litigation domestically and internationally, auditor malpractice, and bank regulatory matters. Adam also has significant experience representing and opposing receivers appointed by both state and federal courts.
