Within the eight recognised quality principles in managing a QMS, there are so many times where I have performed well. For example, I was chosen in a leadership role by Boeing as the Continuous Improvement Focal for the 747 ER programme where there were 1,200 employees on site. I follow a systematic approach to management, persuading senior management that QMS is really the desired BMS. For people involvement, when there is repeated resistance from individuals during 5S Lean manufacturing initiatives, I prefer to appoint them as cell leaders so they have to get involved. My problem solving abilities are well recognised and when there are quality failings, I look at the process rather than laying the blame at an individual’s door. As well as all of the above, I pick up new skills and adapt to ever-changing circumstances quickly and easily, turning my hand to pretty much anything that is thrown at me.
