About Adam Derito

Adam DeRito is a decorated veteran, public servant, and accomplished entrepreneur dedicated to empowering America’s first responders and veterans. Beginning his service as a firefighter, EMT, and search and rescue technician, Adam attended the U.S. Air Force Academy before building a 14-year career in the oil and gas industry, earning a Master of Science and founding Leatherwood Development Group LLC. A tireless advocate for military justice reform, he authored the Military Mental Health Protection and Justice Act, better known as the “DeRito Act”, to combat sexual assault and retaliation in the ranks, and continues to consult on legislative efforts at every level of government. As host of the Dark Sabre and Tuxes & Tomahawks podcasts, Adam gives voice to reform-minded veterans nationwide. Currently serving in the Army Reserve as a Military Industrial Specialist, he is also the National Vice Chairman of the America First Veterans Association and sits on the Board of Governors for the Colorado Hispanic Republicans. Adam’s unwavering commitment is to unite veterans and first responders to protect the freedoms for which so many have sacrificed.
