About Adam Erwin

I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program. After graduation, I focused my career on product development and innovation collaborating on a wide spectrum of products from many industries including Robert Bosch Tool, Palmolive, Dial, Weber Stephens, SoftScrub, Progeny Dental, Zagg, ACCO/Swingline, and Arris. In 2009, on the heels of the Great Recession, I launch my design consultancy Iteration, Inc. guiding many companies to develop new products from early research-based innovation to final product launch. I enjoy leading and tackling a variety of design problems, from large corporate clients to the early start-ups. In 2013, I merged this consultancy with the partners of Tres Design Group to form PlusD2, Inc. The vision was to be a highly experienced hands-on boutique-style product development consultancy built on innovation, insight, authenticity, precision, and collaboration. The firm received numerous design awards, including Red Dot, Good Design, and CES Innovation. PlusD2’s collaboration was awarded over 75 US and international patents. In 2018, I enthusiastically joined Worthington Industries as a Senior Industrial Designer in the newly formed Innovation Team within the Industrial Products business unit. Our team is a diverse and very nimble group that supports all innovation and new product development efforts for the business. My passion for human-centered research drives the design process and emphasizes the voice of the customer to generate actionable insights. As the lead designer on this team, I have been able to bring a flexible and diverse skillset honed throughout my career. As an industrial designer, entrepreneur, and creative thinker, I bring a creative approach to all problems - design, business, and innovation.
