About Adam Gray

I am a Canadian citizen, living and working as a teacher in Sweden since 1992. I have a BA from Trinity Western University, Canada, and hold a second BA from Malmoe University. I currently study the MA in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at Malmoe University. I am an extremely active and curious person about the world around me, always looking for a new challenges and experiences. I hope to continue in a career path that allows me to exercise my curiosity about the world. I am an extremely enthusiastic person and love talking to new people, I am very approachable and consider myself a person who is easy to get along with. I came to Sweden in 1992 during a teachers shortage. In 2002, the National Agency for Higher Education issued my official teaching credentials based on my 8 year experience in Sweden and my BA in Educational Studies from Canada. I later complemented that with a BA in English Studies.I won both the 2017 and 2021 awards for teaching excellence at Malm University because I have excellent people skills and am particularly good at teaching by making difficult ideas simple and clear. I am skilled at teaching and curriculum design for ESL, academic writing, grammar and punctuation, rhetoric and presentation skills, dramatic literature and acting.Digital e-learning has been a particular interest of mine and I was a resource during the transition to emergency digital teaching and on-line learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. I have developed several courses for undergraduates, focusing on helping students who have English as a second language to succeed at academic writing. I have also developed theatre courses within the English Studies Program. Additionally, I have digitalized my English courses, using a web-based learning platform for the flipped-classroom. I am the head of the English department of the university's Writing Centre, a resource for grad and undergrad students.
