About Adam Hume
I am a research assistant professor focused primarily on research of the various filoviruses, including Ebola virus (EBOV), Marburg virus (MARV), and Lloviu virus (LLOV). Our lab studies mechanisms of antiviral signaling induced by these hemorrhagic viruses. In addition to performing experiments with these viruses in the Biosafety Level 4 (BSL4) lab at Boston University's National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratory (NEIDL), our lab also uses BSL2 minigenome systems to study the mechanisms of filovirus transcription and genomic replication as well as to study antiviral activity affecting these processes.Our lab has also worked tirelessly on Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the etiological agent of the Covid-19 outbreak.
