About Adam Kidd

I've been working within hospitality since 2012. Originally, this was within the catering and hospitality company Sodexo, then Aramark in direct contact with the Army. Located in the Officers Mess I became used to dealing with complex issues, helping to put together large functions, accomodate people and do bar and kitchen work. Working alongside the military was interesting and allowed me to meet many different people from all walks of life. In 2017, alongside working late nights full time, I decided to return to education and applied for an Access course at Andover college with the hope of going to University. I studied Humanities, Sociology and Psychology. It was around this time that I found out my partner was expecting a baby and in 2018 after completing my course, enrolling for a full time degree at Winchester University and starting a new job at The Star and Garter Hotel that my partner gave birth to my son. I have since been working, alongside studying full time and helping to raise my step-daughter and son. The last couple of years have had their challenges being a worker, student and new parent, especially during a global pandemic but I believe it has strengthened my ability to cope with change, becoming more adaptable. I graduated in 2021 with a 2:1 BA in Philosophy, Religion and Ethics, this has assisted with my drive in seeking new opportunities, I am particularly interested in graduate employment schemes and trainee roles to begin a new pathway that will allow me to provide excellent work-life balance to my family and develop a long and lasting career that I am passionate about. I am currently studying a Masters degree in Reconciliation and Peace building at Winchester University that is done in my own time, not effecting my ability to work full time. In 2019 I passed my driving test and I have access to my own car.
