About Adam McCrary

As Director of Environmental Health and Safety at Illinois State University, I lead a team of professionals who are responsible for the University's environmental, occupational health & safety, and workers compensation programs. EHS monitors and assesses health and safety conditions and provides necessary oversight to ensure the University provides a safe and healthy campus for students, faculty, staff and visitors. EHS is also responsible for monitoring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations concerning the environment. From December 2017 to April 2022, I worked as a Senior Property and Casualty Risk Engineer at Chubb. In 2017, I worked as a Safety/Security Specialist at State Farm. Previous to State Farm, I worked at Illinois State University and progressed from Safety Officer I to an Assistant Director of Environmental Health and Safey from 2011-2016. I served in the Illinois Army National Guard as an Infantry Fire Team Leader from 2003-2010. I was deployed to Kunar Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a Provincial Reconstruction Team Security Force Team Leader.
