About Adam Meyer
I am a PhD candidate in the Ecosystem Ecology Lab at Memorial University of Newfoundland. I do field studies and make mathematical models to better understand biodiversity, animal movement, and the complex roles of animals in ecosystems. For example, some of my research shows how moose and other large animals can shape critical soil functions (e.g. biogeochemical cycling, microbial community functioning) in different environments. This research can help improve ecosystem management practices like restoration, rewilding, and conservation. I am also an educator with a passion for science communication and STEM education for all ages.
