About Adam Nelson

I care about how people interact with design. Form and function are each only part of a whole. I like to sit on the line between the two and balance the equation. I've been programming web interfaces for more than 15 years now, and I've been a graphic designer for about as long. As such I have a unique ability to understand the limitations of these disciplines and create an optimal result. I'm currently directing my energies into mobile design, which represents a new and very quickly evolving avenue for creative expression. The design issues involved are new and the science behind them is young, and I'm out there learning and solving problems and enjoying every second of it. I'm skilled in- User Experience design for web, print, and mobile - Process optimization: last year I built tools that increased team productivity by a factor of eight - Branding and identity - Expert proficiency with Adobe tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, InDesign, etc.)- Expert in Bohemian Coding's new Sketch UI design software - Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP - HTML5 - Advanced object-oriented CSS, SASS, LESS - jQuery and JavaScript - Version control systems (SVN, Git)
