Over 20 years of advanced experience in molecular biology and biochemistry laboratory techniques in DNA cloning, amplification and purification, PCR: Conventional & Real-time, biochemical assays (Bradford Assay, Lowry Assay and ELISAs), cell culture (BHK, HEK293, CHO, L929, HeLa) and stem cell culture (murine) and Chromatography (High-Performance & Thin Layer Ion Exchange). Managed operational aspects of a biochemistry teaching lab while dealing with multiple stakeholders; faculty, undergraduates, graduate department and administration. Skilled in fostering relationships with sales reps and contractors while remaining within budgetary constraints. Ability to identify and resolve any obstacles with creative solutions. Committed to high ethical standards to ensure all students are trained thoroughly with proper safety training, follow SOPs and site specific training under constant supervision. Spearheaded the development and redesign of the second year project-based laboratory course material. Improved and expanded existing laboratory courses allowing for highly specialized techniques to be taught within teaching labs – e.g. western blotting, use of GFP in cell culture and crystallization screening.
