About Adam Rang

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated student currently studying geology at Colorado School of Mines as a graduate student under Dr. Zhaoshan Chang. My research objective is to produce a standard curve that calibrates a value of illite crystallinity to the trapping temperature of fluid inclusions in quartz and sphalerite veins. I hope that the product of my research may aid in the exploration of intermediate sulfidation epithermal environments and skarn deposits, especially at La Colorada in Zacatecas, Mexico. I have a passion for geosciences, and I have actively engaged in a range of academic and extracurricular activities in order to pursue this interest. I am excited to learn more about about geology- specifically how hydrothermal geochemistry, volcanology, petrology and mineral forming processes impact the road to a more sustainable future. I am committed to furthering my education and I hope to study earth science and geochemistry for a long time to come.
