About Adam Richards

I am convinced we can do things better – by being more accountable for the decisions we take and the results of our actions we can create a more sustainable and equitable world. Completed my PhD examining how Social Return on Investment (SROI) affects organizations' potential to measure and manage their social impacts in 2010 and have since researched, taught, practiced, and trained in this area. I’ve now worked for over 15 years to support organizations develop and embed impact management into how they make decisions. I am Social Value International’s (SVI) Director of Impact and work to develop the movement and methodology that can change the way the world accounts for value – meaning we can contribute to sustainable development and meet the needs of stakeholders. I’ve provided training to hundreds of individuals and organizations on social value, SROI, impact management and sustainability. I also remain a committed practitioner and love working with change makers and those dedicated to being more accountable. Being able to assist organizations to better understand their stakeholders’ experiences and develop effective systems to respond to insights and improve their impacts is my motivation. We know there is a lot of work to do, but this is the key to meeting the needs of people and the planet and delivering sustainable development.
