About Adam Simpson

I’m a systems-focused software engineer and recent graduate from the University of Michigan (EECS ’25), passionate about building low-level infrastructure that makes modern computing possible. My academic work and personal projects have centered on operating system internals: I’ve implemented a virtual memory pager in C++ with file-backed and swap-backed memory, built a multithreaded file server with Boost locks and RAII concurrency control, and developed a user-level thread library using ucontext. These projects taught me to reason about memory models, synchronization, and I/O at the system interface. I’ve also applied my skills in industry - from building machine learning pipelines with American Airlines to launching a Swift + Flask-based mobile app (WaitFast) used by hundreds. At Michigan Medicine, I’m contributing to research on biomedical surface testing with an OpenCV-based vision pipeline, soon to be published. I’m actively seeking full-time roles in software development, device drivers, systems programming, or infrastructure - where performance, correctness, and deep debugging are core to the work.
