About Adam Wilson

I am a School Counsellor for all grade levels. I have worked within both an Elementary and Middle School in New Brunswick, Canada as well as two different Canadian International Schools, previously in Beijing, China and currently in Abu Dhabi, UAE. I have worked within the New Brunswick curriculum, both in New Brunswick but also in Beijing. In Beijing we were also able to achieve full certification as an IB school where I worked with our grads (DP) and received my MYP certificates. In Abu Dhabi I currently work within an Alberta curriculum school. At all of my schools I have taken on additional leadership roles, such as within an Administration team (New Brunswick and CISB), Student Services team (CIS Abu Dhabi) and coached several sports at each. While I take great pride in my role as a student advocate and support I also make great efforts to support teachers both in classrooms and outside, both professionally through my work but also outside through planning social and sporting events. I am very proud to have graduated with my Masters in Education in Counselling Psychology but beyond my education and training (ASIST, NVCI, MYP etc) I feel my ability to relate to students and peers makes me the most effective counsellor. Developing a rapport based on mutual trust and respect where my decisions are known to be in the best interest of the child is essential. I have never dreaded going to work a single day despite the challenges my role may face each day. I enjoy my career as a helper and am excited to continue to learn and grow while supporting our future generations.
