More than a decade as an editor and team leader at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal and Amarillo Globe-News, working with newsrooms of award-winning reporters and photographers to produce compelling, meaningful journalism - both print and online - for our audience in West Texas and beyond- More than 20 years as a journalist in West Texas, getting my start as a reporter and Editor-in-Chief at the Abilene High Battery, reporting and editing for The Daily Toreador at Texas Tech before working my way from intern to reporter to lead editor at daily publications- Graduate of the Gannett Emerging Leaders program in 2020- 5 years on Lubbock's 4th on Broadway festival steering committee and chair of children's-area events, including the Cabella's Youth Fishing Tournament in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024- Member of the Lubbock Habitat for Humanity marketing committee- Reliable editor trusted to lead newsrooms to stay relevant and impactful in an ever-changing, increasingly digital environment- A leader and team player striving to build positive, ethical and successful cultures with a count-me-in attitude and a healthy dose of levity mixed in.
