About Adams A. Tarfa

Adams is an International Affairs and Development professional who is passionate about a wide-array of security and development issues. In his current role, he provides project management support to a portfolio of USAID-funded projects. He considers himself an engaging communicator, an adept strategic thinker, and a dedicated servant. He is looking to further develop his skills and well as engage with likeminded professionals in project management, governance,stabilization and policy formulation. In his spare time, he is interested in discussing STEM issues, global security and social issues, and exploring the gradual growth of developing economies. He graduated from the Elliott School of International Affairs -The George Washington University with a Master's degree in International Affairs with a Concentration in International Security and Development. For his undergraduate, he attended Gombe State University were he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. Professionally, Adams has worked in the public and private sectors both abroad and in the United States, he worked in Project management and research capacities for various organizations. In his lived and study abroad experience, he has volunteered for nonprofits and has worked with vulnerable communities in various capacities. This led him to write and successfully defend his undergraduate thesis,"The Effect of Unemployment on National Security." His year-long masters's graduate capstsone focused on consulting Mercy Corps on the Pastoral Conflict in North-east Nigeria to find a more sustainable remedy to stabilizing affected communities.
