About Addison Boyette

I was an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Heather Broadhead's Research Lab at the University of Southern Mississippi. I currently study degradation properties of cellulose acetate films and the effects of “Vinegar Syndrome” but I have also done work with coatings and bacteria film testing. In addition to my laboratory work and coursework, I maintain a part-time position with The University of Southern Mississippi Office of Admissions where I have gained a variety of crucial skills in both professional and interpersonal communication. My time at the University of Southern Mississippi has provided me with a substantial background in polymer chemistry, synthesis, characterization, formulation, processing, and material design. After completing my bachelors degree in Polymer Science & Engineering, I intend to pursue a career working with a team in research and development of coatings, or potentially other polymer focuses. I intend to utilize my background in polymer chemistry to focus primarily on developing applications for coatings for use in civil works and infrastructure. I intend to work on projects that focus on preserving and supporting infrastructure with different conditions, Along with developing materials to be used in infrastructure and civil projects to sustain them. Polymer chemistry, Coatings Engineering, and Infrastructure Material Science innovation is my main motivation, professionally. I prefer to collaborate on projects after being an involved student at The University of Southern Mississippi who takes leadership, academia, and service seriously. Through my commitment to these values throughout my undergraduate degree and in my involvement, I have also become adept at managing multiple different projects and event preparation within a similar timeframe.
