About Adeatrice Smith

Dedicated public servant with a passion for serving under-recognized communities in the areas of community health, educational equity and restorative justice. As a high school special educator in NYC Public Schools, I’ve held various leadership roles, including Special Education Coordinator, Special Education Department Lead, Special Education Liaison, Social Studies Department Lead, Administrative Intern and Certified School-Based New Teacher Mentor. Currently I serve as a District Administrator for the Consortium, International, Outward Bound (CIOB) citywide district. I work with school leaders to enhance school climate, culture, safety and discipline while building their capacity for sustained improvement. I also serve as the GSA District Lead and District Lead for the My Brother’s Keeper & My Sister’s Keeper initiative, supporting inclusive and affirming environments for all students. A proud alum of the New York City Teaching Collaborative, I’ve served as an Ambassador, Key Note Speaker and Selector. I have also trained aspiring teachers in the NYC Teaching Fellows as a Coach, Fellow Effectiveness Manager and Selector. I lead with a culturally responsive lens and am committed to ensuring NYC Public Schools are safe, welcoming and inclusive environments, where all children are seen, celebrated and can learn and grow.
