About Adelbert Occil

After studying Agricultural Engineering (Option Environment and Natural Resouces) in 1989, Adelbert worked one year for the Ministry of Agriculture (Haiti) providing technical assistance to local farmer in Thomazeau (social services). Afterward, he completed more than 14 years of agro-environmental works in an international organization. For wider perspective, he gets a degree in Environment, Health and Disasters Management at the Medicine Faculty of the University of Montreal. He enjoys helping people. MORE THAN 14 YEARS OF AGRO-ENVIRONMENTAL WORKS Youth Initiative Development Project Management Technical and financial management of a 3 years multi-sectorial Youth Initiative Development Project (Agriculture, Education, Health, Small Economic Activities Development) in the Northwest of Haiti. Managed a staff about 40 people included Agricultural Engineers, and Technicians, Education and health specialists, peers educators, project partners, program support personnel and equipments for CARE-Haiti. Integrated Conservation Development Project Management Led two regional teams that implemented CARE ( USAID/World Bank funded) integrated conservation and development project in 40 communities in Northern and southern Haiti. We implemented resources conservation, agroforestry and supported sustainable economic development activities within the buffer zone of the Macaya National Parc for productivity and environmental protection. Productive Land Use Systems Led regional teams that implemented or extended productive land uses techniques in the Northwestern and southwestern departments of Haiti. Techniques includes soil and water conservation, agroforestry, bio-intensive gardens. Train and or supervise Technical and administrative staff included Agricultural Engineers and technicians, field agents, farmers, community based organizations and administrative assistants.
