WORK: As a School Board Liaison for Let's Talk Science, I am a relationships manager who is responsible for maintaining and building new relationships with school boards and districts across Canada, supporting access to K-12 STEM programming, delivering presentations, and representing Let's Talk Science at public events. Also experienced content manager and program/project manager of K-12 digital and print products (English and French). Specialized in content development, writing, reviewing, editing, and project and team management. I thrive on building strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. Leadership, dedication, hard work, excellent communication, creativity, and being a likeable and approachable colleague are key to my achievements. VOLUNTEERING: I am passionate about protecting endangered species on land and at sea, and advocating for environmental protection and conservation. I am President of the Board of Directors of Rhino & Elephant Defenders (RED), a non-profit organization. I led the re-branding of the organization. In addition, I lead Board meetings, write and edit various communications, create/update website content, edit/post to social media, and help to plan and manage events. For several years, I held a top leadership position at Sea Shepherd Toronto (official chapter of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society) as the Coordinator, Writer, and Communications Lead. I was responsible for leading and helping to run the chapter's operations. I organized events, managed and sold merchandise (at vendor booths), educated through public outreach, managed social media accounts and the chapter's email account, interviewed volunteer applicants, trained volunteers, and performed administrative duties. OTHER: I am also the founder of Protect Our Planet Now blog site (protectourplanetnow.com) with associated social media pages.
