About Adeline Delonca
I am an engineering geologist, specialized in stability analysis in rocky environments with a PhD in Rock Mechanics from the University of Lorraine, France. My PhD was related to the uncertainties in rockfalls assessment. After my PhD, I conducted two post-doctoral positions, the first one in Chile (University of Chile, Santiago) and the second one in Australia (University of Queensland, Brisbane), which led me to work on stability assessment in open-pit and underground mines. Some projects have been done in relation with consulting company, to answer applied issues. I then worked as geologist in a French geotechnical consulting company, leading geotechnical projects related to the instabilities in fractured rocky environnements. I now have joined the team of researcher at the University Técnica Federico Santa Maria where I develop my investigation related to the geomechanical risk in rocky environnements. My professional experience led me to develop knowledge in numerical modeling (finite elements, distinct elements, Limit Equilibrium Slope Stability Analysis, RocScience package) and in statistic.
