About Adi Panuntun

Paper, magnifying glass, mirror, and light were my childhood companions. Instead of taking afternoon naps, I immersed myself in experiments, eagerly exploring the reflection of light and the projection of images as dynamic entities. These early experiences ignited a lifelong fascination with the realms of visuals and optics. I am Adi Panuntun, a designer, as well as the co-founder and CEO of PT Sembilan Matahari. Additionally, I have the privilege of serving as the Chairman of the Bandung Creative City Forum (BCCF). Together with my dedicated team at Sembilan Matahari, we strive to create films that break new ground by integrating art and technology, evoking profound emotional experiences. The core concept of "seeing differently through film" serves as a catalyst, stimulating sensitivity, fostering awareness, and inspiring positive change within the audience. Through our interdisciplinary approach, which encompasses innovative coding and programming skills, we craft impressive, interactive, and spectacular audiovisual and multimedia masterpieces. Within the realm of design thinking, I firmly believe that revolutionizing perspectives through film yields the most exceptional and groundbreaking design outcomes. Beyond film, I am captivated by the idea of presenting a captivating "mediascape" that breathes life into public spaces. By employing strategic techniques that blur the boundaries between reality and the imaginary, I create immersive atmospheres that transport viewers into extraordinary realms. This is made possible through the seamless integration of digital manipulation, mesmerizing cinematography, and enchanting musical compositions. It is from this very point that the emergence of giant outdoor digital projections, widely known as video mapping, began to flourish in the early 2010s in Indonesia. Numerous monumental "short film" projects have transformed historical sites and adorned the facades of ancient buildings, capturing the imagination of spectators. Among our earliest notable collaborations was the project initiated at the Fatahillah Museum in Jakarta, in partnership with the British Council. Together, we have embarked on a journey to redefine visual storytelling and create awe-inspiring experiences that transcend boundaries and ignite the imagination of audiences worldwide.
