Background
About Adil Ali
Admitted to practise law in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago as an Attorney-at-Law (trained in English common law). I transitioned to law after a varied background in airline operations, business management, aviation training, logistics and international trade. My legal practice areas include: business immigration, insurance law, international commercial law, aviation regulatory/safety compliance, international logistics law, trade compliance, debt recovery actions, property law, succession planning, civil litigation, public law and preliminary criminal representation. This legal career transition leverages my work/business experience and education spanning over two decades in the Caribbean, U.S, Canada and U.K. I am a highly organized, goal-driven, entrepreneurial and innovative thinker with a consummate attention to detail. I began my career after university as a management consultant with the government of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago. This role honed my professional skills and attributes while providing opportunities for certifications in alternative dispute resolution, presentation skills and leadership. I pursued additional courses in information technology and real estate, before moving to the private sector. My private sector roles included strategic and operational management of businesses in the I.T, automation, electronic security and project management fields. I earned my FAA commercial pilot and aircraft dispatcher certificates in 2011, followed by a master's degree in aviation/aerospace management and safety systems, later taking on a training manager role within the aviation sector. After moving to Canada in 2016, I briefly worked in the electronic security field, from which I transitioned to a flight operations specialist role with the software division of Airbus. This provided a pathway to the airline industry, while allowing me to complete my law degree part-time. I also independently represent Momar Inc, a full solution chemical and MRO company, both in the Caribbean and Canada, since 2014. I am an advocate for lifelong learning and have mentored subordinates, team members, and students in my various roles. As a licensed commercial pilot in the U.S, Canada, and Trinidad & Tobago, I am an advocate for the development of General Aviation and the mentoring of youth into aviation. I am a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Light Aeroplane Club of Trinidad & Tobago, Airport Support Network (volunteer) and Canadian Bar Association (student). I hold dual Trinidad & Tobago and Canadian citizenships.
