About Aditya Baraskar

I am a Senior Scientist and Global Business Lead at Orbital Lasers Co, Ltd, where I am involved in the development of technologies for laser-based detumbling, space debris removal, and LiDAR satellite systems. I also oversee the company’s global business strategy, collaboration, and international expansion, while contributing to next-generation satellite development initiatives. Seconded to SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, Japan, I serve as Chief Scientist and Mission Designer for the world’s first laser-based space debris removal mission. I also hold roles as a Visiting Scientist at RIKEN and Director and Co-founder of Entropy Research and Development Pvt. Ltd, India. My postdoctoral research at Kyushu University involved modeling debris evolution and conducting observations of near-Earth debris using the AI-enabled Tomo-e-Gozen optical telescope. I earned a Doctor of Engineering degree with a focus on "Energy Orbit," a laser-based wireless power transmission system for space solar power satellite (SSPS) constellations. I also hold a PG Diploma in GIS and Space Law from NALSAR University and a Master’s degree in Rocket and Space Systems Engineering from the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), in collaboration with NPO Lavochkin (ROSCOSMOS). I began my academic journey with a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from North Maharashtra University, India. I have contributed to the design of small satellites for communication and debris monitoring, and continue to work at the intersection of space systems innovation, entrepreneurship, and strategic investment in aerospace technologies.
