My work focuses on developing structure-property relationships in functional materials by utilizing advance solid-state NMR spectroscopy techniques. I am currently active in the following areas of research: 1. Nanodrug delivery systems -molecular dynamics, drug aggregation and drug carrier structure drug efficacy and release profile 2. Energy storage materials - nano-confined hydrogen storage materials - sodium ion batteries - carbon supercapacitors - graphene and graphene oxide 3. Waste recycling - plastic and biomass recycling for metallurgical applications - slag and fly ash geopolymers for low carbon footprint construction materials 4. Soil remediation using mineral-biochar composites. Biomaterials - structure and dynamics of spider silk mechanical properties - polymer-bioglass composites for bone implant applications 6. Interstellar dust - developing models to understand structure of carbon in interstellar dust
