About Aditya Shrivastava
I am a human rights practitioner with over 12 years experience in using the law to strengthen civic engagement. I have provided extensive support to CSOs, social movements, grassroots activists and official institutions in India through various methods, including research, strategic litigation, advocacy, capacity building and project management. My core interests are civic space freedoms, the right to food and digital rights.Recently, as a German Chancellor Fellow, I pursued a comparative analysis of civic freedoms in Europe and India. My project aimed to devise actionable strategies and systemic reforms for civil society resilience in repressive regimes. For this project, I combined academic and experiential insights with a transdisciplinary approach to understand legal, political and social facets of shrinking civic spaces.
