About Adolfo Marzol

Adolfo Marzol is an experienced financial and risk management professional in the mortgage finance industry with substantial expertise in issues related to housing finance reform. He has a broad and deep understanding of mortgage loan origination, servicing, securitization, portfolio management, credit risk management, and financial and strategic planning. Until his retirement on April 1st, 2015, Marzol served as Executive Vice President of Essent US Holdings, a leading private mortgage insurance company. At Essent, Marzol's responsibilities included leading Essent's public policy engagement to ensure a well-functioning housing finance system with a substantial role for private enterprise and capital. Prior to Essent, Marzol worked as an advisor in the areas of mortgage risk management, measurement, policy, and governance as well as assisting clients with public policy developments and their impact on client’s mortgage related business activities. He served for 10 years at Fannie Mae from 1996 to 2005, 6 of those years as Executive Vice President. Prior to Fannie Mae, Marzol served for 8 years with Chase Manhattan Mortgage prior to Fannie Mae. At Chase, Marzol served in increasingly senior positions, ending as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior positions included Senior Vice President – Risk Management (the equivalent of Head of Secondary Marketing) and Vice President – Corporate Development. Marzol started his mortgage finance career with Equitable Mortgage and served as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer.
