About Adrian Allen

Supporting innovative businesses with IP commercialisation, product and service development, and access to finance (grants and investment). I am currently working for Newable providing innovation services to London-based SMEs, plus the identification of new national and international business opportunities/initiatives/partnerships. I manage the IPO IP Audit grants initiative for London and work alongside colleagues at the Department for International Trade and Enterprise Europe Network, to provide technology ventures with joined-up innovation and international sales/supply-chain opportunities. I work with technology start-ups through to established businesses - the latter as an Innovate UK Scaleup Programme Director. Having worked alongside leading design consultants in Denmark, user-centred design is second nature. I have a passion for helping businesses develop practical, efficient, solutions. These benefit external customers, through new products and services, and internally through management systems improvement. I am able to identify business improvement opportunities and enjoy the development of new initiatives from inception through to established delivery. Previous work has involved the planning, launch and running of an incubator, establishing Knowledge Transfer Partnerships at a university, the launch of a regional proof of concept fund and working with the private sector, higher education and local authorities to develop a new business park. Additional business-related interests include: art gallery tech/audience experience development,'clean energy', and supporting under-represented entrepreneurs.
