My motto in life:"You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give."- Winston Churchill Highly motivated accounting professional (CPA, CGA) as well as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), I have solid and progressive experience in Accounting, Management, Financial reporting, Forecasting, Systems implementation, but probably most importantly - Leadership! With more than 25 years accounting experience. I had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on every single aspect of the accounting and finance cycle. As a seasoned professional accountant, I do provide a thorough understanding of the accounting principles, provide senior management with solid financial background for sound business decisions, while having the ability and training to safeguard the company assets, by preventing and mitigating potential for fraud. Also, I do have a comprehensive background in financial statements preparation and reporting for private and publicly traded corporations, general management, strategic planning, budgeting, data analysis, financial forecasting, variance analysis. Status quo is never an option for me. I am constantly trying to improve processes in order to improve efficiencies, reporting, controls.In terms of leadership, I do believe in leveraging people's strengths, rather than focusing on their weaknesses. I like to think that I do apply every day the five practices of modern leadership: Model the Way, Inspire as Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart. I strongly believe in helping the community as much as I can, and I am a member (and past President) of the Rotary Club of Orangeville Highlands, Director with the Board of Directors of Headwaters Health Care Centre, past Director with Board of Directors of Central West Local health Integration Network (CW LHIN)(Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee as well for CW LHIN), past Board member of Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival, Community Living Dufferin, a frequent member of the grant review teams for Dufferin County grants as well as Dufferin Community Foundation grants, and the list can go on. And this brings me back to my motto:"You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give".
