Background
About Adrian Chan
As a research-driven data scientist and quantitative researcher with an MPhil in Physics, I specialize in applying machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) techniques to extract insights from complex financial data, and transforming insights into strategy with backtesting and deep analysis.Currently, I serve as the Senior Research Analyst at Rivermap, where I’ve led the development of a portfolio construction and backtesting system. My work blends quantitative modeling, NLP, and hands-on collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders—including clients.I have a strong interest in model validation, interpretability, and AI governance—particularly in the financial sector. I enjoy critically evaluating model assumptions, understanding risk implications, and bridging technical depth with business outcomes.
